Hello Clan

What is in this disc?

There are three main components :

New Paradigms
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The !REALTIME programs explore new ways of interacting with the computer.
FACE shows how what can be done in real time to give the computer quite
literally a more human face. How would it feel to talk to a computer that
had a real personality?
LANDSCAP gives you the chance to experiment with what it feels like to move
around in a 3D space under mouse control. This application also demonstrates
the graphics power of the risc processor, as all the images are generated in
real time as you move through space. While you are moving around think about
why a "desktop" has to be 2 dimensional when we all live in a 3 dimensional
world.
Internet
~~~~~~~~
Included in the this folder are three very useful text files that will help
you to get the most out of the internet. The results from the application
forms show that currently about half of the Clan members have access to the
internet. The internet provides us with a quick and easy way of exchanging
ideas and represents the best way of keeping the Clan the lively and up to
date group that Acorn needs.

Net FAQ has a range of different information, including phone numbers of the
service providers, together with information to help solve some of the most
common problems involved in using an Acorn computer on the internet. Thanks
to Kevin Quinn for putting this together and making it available.

Email is designed to allow you to get the most out of the internet when you
only have access through Email

Resources gives you information on how to access the different types of
resources available on the internet, together with list of the most useful

The combination of these three documents should help those of you who do not
currently have access to choose the best way to get onto the internet, and
help those who already have access to get the more out of their it.

FAQ
~~~
This is a document which is available on comp.sys.acorn.announce, which
covers a whole range of different topics from the specs of different
machines to how to restart a real time clock. A big thank to Philip Banks
for putting this together and making it available.
If you have any ideas for future topics, product ideas, future concepts,
news or other information  I look forward to hearing from you either
electronically on PM@acorn.co.uk or by writing to Product Marketing at the
usual address.
PS the text files have been compressed using squash to make sure that
everything fits on a 800k disc.
